OneDrive is a nifty program to sync and backup your data with our cloud. Using it is recommended in case the laptop you are working with gets damaged or lost. This way the data can easily be downloaded onto another laptop.
Here are a few steps to ensure OneDrive is working properly on your system.
In the bottom right corner of your screen, you will see different logo’s
The blue cloud logo represents OneDrive. It should show like the logo above. That means your OneDrive is working and synced. You can hover the mouse over the logo to check it.
When OneDrive is syncing it will show turning arrows like this:
If your OneDrive is not signed in with your Agriterra account it will look like this:
It is recommended that you sign in by clicking on the logo and follow the instructions given.
This way you will ensure the safety of your data.
If you click on the OneDrive icon you will see recently synced files and there is also the synced recycle bin and access to settings.
In Windows Explorer you can view and edit your files like normal. Here are a few tips to get you going.
Open Explorer. You can see in the left-hand pane and on the top bar where I selected the OneDrive - Stichting Agriterra folder, this is the main folder.
You will notice these icons next to folders and files:
The green check mark means a file is synced both on your computer and our cloud server.
The blue turning arrows states that a sync is in progress this will happen automatically and ensure your files are safe.
The cloud icon means this file is in the cloud. Once you click on it you will save a local copy and the icon will turn to the green checkmark.
By default, everything within the following folders is synced:
Desktop, Documents, Microsoft Team Chat Files, Pictures and Recordings.
You can add folders in the Settings menu of OneDrive.
